Susanna Stacy Johnson, Ph.D.


Biography:

She is a native of Texas and has lived in Poland since 2001.


Interests:

Her first interest is that of her personal development of teaching methods that involve students in the process of their learning through the means of student and student cooperation as well as student and teacher cooperation. Her second group of interests involves expanding on her subjects of expertise: English and American Literature and Anglo-American Cultures.

Bionote:

She has been affiliated with Jan Długosz University since 2012. During her first years at Jan Długosz University, because she is a native speaker, the majority of her teaching load was involved with practical language courses, but in more recent years, her courses have included subjects dealing with culture and literature. Currently, she focuses on teaching students in multiple BA and MA seminars that deal with American Children’s Literature and American Southern Gothic Literature. She has been invited to participate in Modern Language Association Conference because of her unique research on Flannery O’Connor. She has offered well-received extra courses to visiting high school students, and she has made presentations at local area high schools.
